Daily writing prompt
What topics do you like to discuss?

There are few topics that I like discussing. Most conversations seem pointless in the end. Idle talking to fill the air. I would have been a good caveman or ancient prophet who lived an isolated life. I am a conspiracy enthusiast however, not that I believe all of them but I like to think I have an open mind. Convince me. Those are topics I like to discuss. Flat earth? Ok, let’s talk about it. Moon landing? I have my thoughts. Space? Intriguing. Each of these will get you labeled as crazy, insane, tin-foil hat wearer. What about dimensions, spirit realms, angels and demons? A spiritual battle for your very soul being waged in the heavenly’s? Let’s have a cup of coffee and discuss the implications of any of these things.

But be careful because it is easy to squeeze God into your box to explain things you want to believe in. When it should be the other way around, believing in things that fit into who God is. What do I mean by that? Let me answer that with another question. Did God change so we wouldn’t have to? Most, if not all followers of Jesus will respond, “God is the same yesterday, today and forever, He does not change.” They would be right but yet at the same time hypocrites. For they will also say the Old Testament is done away with. The Old Covenant was fulfilled in Jesus, without fully understanding what the word ‘fulfill’ means.

Another question. Has God redefined sin? Do you truly know what the definition of sin was? This is important, if you don’t know what sin was how will you know what sin is . . . what is sin? Does God still call us out of sin and into righteousness? Do you know what righteousness means? I will tell you that it has a much deeper meaning than your dictionary definition will give you. Simply, righteousness means, ‘things commanded by God to be obeyed by man.’ Has God changed the meaning of righteousness?

This begs the question is it even possible to live holy and righteously? When facing trials of various difficulties one verse is a go to for the broken heart. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Yet, does anyone actually believe this verse true? They might say they do but in the next breath say, ‘it is impossible to keep the commands of God.’ Which is it then, can you or can’t you, do all things through Christ? You cannot have it both ways.

I am not going to answer any of this in this post. If you want to know how I feel on these matters there are posts with in my blog that will answer those questions. I invite you to subscribe to my blog, The Way of the Rabbi. Leave a comment, or send me a question. I will do my best to give you a Berean’s answer. This is the Way of the Rabbi.
